1. Product Overview
FBM203 is a dedicated RTD temperature acquisition fieldbus module of Foxboro I/A Series Compact 200 I/O system, specially designed for high-precision industrial temperature measurement loops, widely used for boiler, turbine, reactor and pipeline temperature monitoring in power, petrochemical and offshore industries. Equipped with 8 fully independent channels with channel-by-channel galvanic isolation, each channel supports 2-wire and 3-wire platinum/nickel thermal resistance sensors (Pt100, Pt1000, Ni120), measuring resistance range 0~320Ω, eliminating measurement error caused by field cable resistance through built-in lead resistance compensation algorithm. Adopts high-resolution sigma-delta analog-to-digital conversion circuit, temperature measurement accuracy up to ±0.02%FS, ultra-low temperature drift, stable long-term measurement performance under large ambient temperature fluctuation. The module supports user-configurable signal conversion period and temperature change rate alarm threshold; once the temperature rises/falls beyond the set rate, the system automatically triggers process interlock alarm. Comprehensive per-channel self-diagnosis function real-time detects sensor open circuit, short circuit and abnormal resistance, fault information uploaded to DCS HMI via fieldbus synchronously with front panel LED visual alarm, quickly locating faulty temperature measuring points without field measuring instruments. 1500VDC channel isolation thoroughly isolates field high-voltage interference and DCS internal logic circuit, multi-stage surge protection prevents module burnout caused by miswiring short-circuit. Compatible with two passive TA termination bases (DIN rail mounting / baseplate direct mounting), centralized field wiring convenient for cabinet marshalling and maintenance. Supports single module operation or paired FBM redundant hot backup configuration to eliminate single-point failure risk of critical temperature loops.
